Tips

Clearing your browser's cache is a great way to give Benchmark Universe and it's resources a boost. Your browser's cache takes a snapshot of every web page you visit on your computer or mobile device so that web pages load more quickly when you revisit them. Occasionally, your cache can prevent you from seeing updated content or create functional issues when too much saved content interferes with new live content.

Tip: Clear your cache on a regular basis especially when we notify you and your school about an upcoming release.

Note: Each browser has its own set of instructions for clearing the cache. The instructions listed apply to devices and browsers we have tested and support. These instructions may not be applicable to all browser versions. See instructions below for the PC, Mac, iPad, and Android.

Google Chrome

1. Press Ctrl+Shift+Delete on your keyboard. The Clear browsing data dialog appears.
2. In the Obliterate the following items from list, select the beginning of time.
3. Select the following check boxes, if necessary.
   • Browsing history
   • Download history
   • Cookies and other site and plug-in data
   • Cached images and files
4. Click Clear browsing data.

Firefox

1. Press Ctrl+Shift+Delete on your keyboard. The Clear Recent History dialog appears.
2. In the Time range to clear list, select Everything.
3. Click Details, if necessary.
4. Select the following check boxes, if necessary.
   • Browsing and Download History
   • Cookies
   • Cache
5. Click Clear Now.

Internet Explorer 9+

1. Press Ctrl+Shift+Delete on your keyboard. The Delete Browsing History dialog appears.
2. Select the following check boxes, if necessary.
   • Preserve Favorites website data
   • Temporary Internet files and website files
   • Cookies and website data
   • History
3. Click Delete.

Note: The plus (+) is not used with the Ctrl, Shift, and Delete keys. It is used to show that multiple keys are pressed simultaneously.

Google Chrome

1. Press Command+Shift+Delete on your keyboard. The Clear browsing data dialog appears.
2. In the Obliterate the following items from list, select the beginning of time.
3. Select the following check boxes, if necessary.
   • Browsing history
   • Download history
   • Cookies and other site and plug-in data
   • Cached images and files
4. Click Clear browsing data.

Firefox

1. Press Command+Shift+Delete on your keyboard. The Clear Recent History dialog appears.
2. In the Time range to clear list, select Everything.
3. Click Details, if necessary.
4. Select the following check boxes, if necessary.
   • Browsing and Download History
   • Cookies
   • Cache
5. Click Clear Now.

Safari 5+

Clear History

1. Click History in the Safari menu bar.
2. Click Clear History at the bottom of the menu. The Are you sure you want to clear history message appears.
3. Click Clear.

Empty Caches

1. Click Safari in the menu bar.
2. Click Preferences.
3. Click Advanced in the Advanced window.
4. Select the Show Develop menu in menu bar check box and close the window.
5. Go to the menu bar and click Develop.
6. Click Empty Caches.

1. Tap Settings.
2. Tap Safari in the Settings list on the left.
3. Scroll on the right and tap Clear History and Website Data. The Clear History and Data dialog appears.
4. Tap Clear.

1. Tap the Google Chrome menu icon at the top-right. The icon appears as three circles aligned vertically.
2. Tap History. The History dialog appears.
3. Tap Clear Browsing Data. The Clear browsing data dialog appears.
4. Tap the Clear browsing history, Clear the cache, Clear cookies, site data check boxes, if necessary.
5. Tap Clear.

Pop-ups are typically small windows that pop up or suddenly appear in the user interface. Pop-ups are used to show resources, messages, or instructional text in Benchmark Universe. Your school or district may have disabled pop-ups that prevent Benchmark Universe pop-ups from appearing or displaying properly.

Google Chrome

1. Click the Customize and control Google Chrome icon in the browser toolbar. It's an icon that has a series of three lines located next to the Bookmark this page (star) icon.
2. Click Settings.
3. Type pop-ups in the Search settings box.
4. Click Content Settings. The Content settings dialog appears.
5. Go to the Pop-ups section and click Manage exceptions.
6. Type your Benchmark Universe website address in the box.
7. Ensure Allow is selected.
8. Click Done.

Firefox

1. Click the Open menu icon in the browser toolbar. It's an icon that has a series of three lines located next to the Bookmark this page (star) icon.
2. Click Options.
3. Click Content.
4. Click Exceptions next to Block pop-up windows.
5. Type your Benchmark Universe website address in the box.
6. Click Allow.
7. Click Close.

Internet Explorer 9+

1. Click the Tools gear icon in the browser toolbar.
2. Click Internet options.
3. Click the Privacy tab.
4. Go to the Pop-up Blocker section and click Settings.
5. Type your Benchmark Universe website address in the box.
6. Click Add.
7. Click Close.

Google Chrome

1. Click Chrome in the menu bar.
2. Click Preferences.
3. Type pop-ups in the Search settings box.
4. Click Content settings.
5. Go to the Pop-ups section and click Manage exceptions.
6. Type your Benchmark Universe website address in the box.
7. Select Allow, if necessary.
8. Click Done.

Firefox

1. Click Firefox in the menu bar.
2. Click Preferences.
3. Click Content.
4. Click Exceptions next to Block pop-up windows.
5. Type your Benchmark Universe website address in the box.
6. Click Allow.
7. Ensure the Benchmark Universe website appears in the Site/Status list.
8. Click Close.

Safari 5+

1. Click Safari in the menu bar.
2. Click Preferences.
3. Click Security.
4. Click Exceptions next to Block pop-up windows.
5. Clear the Block pop-up windows check box, if necessary.

1. Tap Settings.
2. Tap Safari in the Settings list on the left.
3. Scroll on the right and slide the Block Pop-ups (green) button to the left.

Note: The Block Pop-ups button appears clear when it is disabled.

1. Tap the Google Chrome menu icon at the top-right. The icon appears as three circles aligned vertically.
2. Tap Settings. The Settings list appears.
3. Tap Advanced in the Settings list on the left.
4. Scroll to the Page Content section on the right and tap the Block pop-ups check box to clear the setting, if necessary.

Note: You cannot specify which websites should have pop-up exceptions in Safari. You can only enable or block all pop-up windows. We recommend that you check with your technical administrator before enabling all pop-up windows.

The Benchmark Universe free trial subscriptions website is used to sign up for a free trial of our products for a limited period. This website is designed for new customers that are not currently subscribed users.
